How to Attend Service


Register Online

  • All attendees will be required to register online before attending an in-person service.

  • Registration opens on Tuesdays at 9AM. If you are not able to register beforehand, a member of our Welcome Team will help you when you arrive. 

  • If after registering for a service, you determine that you will no longer be able to attend, please cancel your registration using the link provided in the confirmation email that was sent via Church Center.

Arrive and Park

  • Please arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of the worship service to allow for sufficient time to park and check-in.

  • There are 2 parking lots available, one on Murchison Dr. and the other on Sequoia Ave. Additionally, there is ample street parking.  

  • Please put on your mask before exiting your vehicle. Attendees will be required to wear masks at all times while on campus. If you do not have a mask, one will be available for you upon check-in. Children ages 2 and younger are not required to wear a face mask.



  • After parking, you will be directed to one of the check-in stations and greeted by a member of our welcome team. 

  • A volunteer will take your temperature and ask if you or anyone in your party have experienced COVID symptoms in the past 10 days, or if you have had close contact (meaning under 6 feet for more than 15 minutes without medical-grade PPE) with anyone who has tested positive for COVID 19 or is under suspicion of having COVID-19.

  • If you answer “yes” to either question, or have a temperature of 100.4 or higher, you will not be permitted to attend the in-person service, per CDC guidelines.

  • Once you are checked-in, ushers will direct you to where you’ll be seated.



  • All written materials for the service (song lyrics, readings, announcements, sermon notes) will be provided digitally through the BMC App. 

  • Attendees must wear their mask at all times during the worship service.

  • Attendees will be seated within their own household.

  • No food or beverages will be provided. Additionally, eating will not be permitted on-site (children excepted). 

  • Restrooms will be available, but with limited stalls for physical distancing. We ask that only 4 individuals MAX use the restroom at a time.

  • The services will begin promptly at 10AM and will end at approximately 11:30AM.

  • On communion Sundays, prepackaged communion elements will be available.

  • We encourage giving through the BMC app or website, but a drop-box will also be available on site for physical giving.

  • At the conclusion of service, we ask that you observe all safety protocols, including mask-wearing and social distancing, when conversing with others.

Safety Measures

Attendee Safety Requirements

  • Practice social distancing by maintaining a minimum distance of six feet to those around you.

  • Wear a mask, covering your mouth and nose, while on site. Children age 2 and younger are not required to wear a face mask.

  • Wash your hands with soap and water.

  • Stay home if you are sick or have any flu-like symptoms.

Facility Cleaning Protocol

  • MHS custodial staff and BMC volunteers will clean and disinfect the campus before and after each service

Additional Safety Measures

  • Temperature screening of all attendees.

  • Hand sanitizing stations will be located in multiple, convenient locations.

  • Doors will be propped open to reduce/eliminate the need to touch entrances.

  • Posting social distancing & safety measures in high traffic areas.

Contact Tracing

If an attendee experiences COVID-19 symptoms:

Attendees who experience COVID-19 symptoms within 48 hours of attending an on-site worship service are expected to contact BMC immediately via email at These attendees are expected to follow CDC guidelines for self-quarantining and returning to health before registering for another in-person service at BMC.

If an attendee tests positive for COVID-19:

All attendees will be promptly notified if anyone tests positive for COVID-19. The attendee who is confirmed positive for COVID-19 will not be permitted to attend an in-person service until they have surpassed a 10-day symptom-free time period or have tested negative of COVID-19 in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does service meet indoors?

Yes, our services have moved indoors. Outdoor seating will continue to be provided for those who prefer to be outdoors. 

What if I can’t attend in-person services? Will there still be a livestream of the worship service?

While we encourage you to prioritize attending in-person services, a livestream will be made available on our Youtube page if you are unable to attend.​


Do I have to register for the on-site service?

Yes. For those who were not able to register online, there will be walk-in registration available at our welcome table.

May I bring my children? Is there any Children's Ministry or Nursery available? 

Yes, you may bring your child/ren. At this time, we are holding an outdoor Sunday School program for children ages 3 and up who can wear masks properly.


Will there be singing?

Yes (with our masks on)!

Are vaccinations required to attend in-person service?

While we will not be requiring proof of vaccination for entry, we highly encourage those sitting indoors to be vaccinated. 

Will the preacher and vocalists on the praise team be masked?

In compliance with San Mateo County's indoor mask mandate, everyone attending our indoor services, including the preacher and any vocalist(s) on stage, will be masked.

Are there air filters inside the theater?

Yes, the MHS theater has been equipped with MERV13 air filters. HVAC will be turned for 2 hours before and after service for filtration, as well as throughout service. 

I’m not yet comfortable sitting indoors. Will there be an outdoor seating area available?

Yes, there will be a seating area made available for those who prefer to remain outdoors. Video and audio will be provided so that everyone sitting outside can participate in the service.

If I’m sitting outdoors, am I allowed to bring a chair or picnic blanket to sit on?

Yes, those who are sitting outdoors are encouraged to bring their own chairs from home.  Blankets are also permissible. Please keep in mind that no chairs will be permitted on the turf.

Is there ample room for social distancing?

Yes, both indoor and outdoor seating areas will be arranged to allow for plenty of room so that everyone can safely sit socially distanced from one another. 

Will there be a designated area for nursing mothers?

Yes, the green room of the theater has been designated for nursing mothers.

Are pets allowed?

We love animals but we kindly ask that you leave your pets at home (service animals excepted). 

Can I eat before, during, or after the service? 

Food can be consumed on campus, as long as you are outside. Please be sure to clean up after yourself.

Will there be time to fellowship with one another?

Yes, the campus will remain open following service for fellowship. This will take place in the outdoor courtyard. Everyone sitting indoors will be asked to gather outside following the conclusion of service. Please keep your masks on and practice social distancing, while interacting with others on site. 

What if I forget my face mask or I don't have one?

BMC has a limited supply of face masks available for attendees who do not have one or forget theirs at home.

What is the temperature screening accomplishing?

We will check all staff, volunteers, and attendees as they are joining us for the service. CDC and County guidelines indicate a person presenting a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher should not be admitted.

What do I do if I become ill with COVID-19 symptoms within 48 hours of attending an on-site service at BMC?

Please contact us immediately via email at Please follow CDC guidelines for self-quarantining and returning to health before registering for another BMC in-person service.

What happens if an attendee tests positive of COVID-19 within 48 hours of attending an on-site service at BMC?

All attendees who attended the same service as the individual who confirmed positive of COVID-19 will be notified. The attendee who confirmed positive for COVID-19 will not be permitted to attend an on-site service until they have been cleared in accordance with CDC guidelines.
